Eraj Shirvani is Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the London-based Investment Banking Division. Mr. Shirvani is Head of Fixed Income for EMEA and Head of the European Credit Business. Mr. Shirvani is a member of the Bank’s EMEA Operating Committee, Fixed Income Division Operating Committee and co-chairs the Global Derivatives Committee.
Mr. Shirvani is also a Board member for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and represents Credit Suisse on the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s MarkIt-Serv Board. He has been serving on the ISDA Board for eight years, during which he also served a three-year term as Chairman.
Mr. Shirvani joined The First Boston Corporation in 1988 as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Training Program. He received his B.A. in International Relations and French from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.B.A. from Columbia University.
David Piesse is the Asia Pacific ambassador for the International Insurance Society and has a 30-year global career combining risk management, information technology, and financial services. As a specialist in micro-insurance he co-founded the Asia Insurance Review micro-insurance conference, a founder charter member of the Microinsurance Reinsurance Round Table in Singapore (M1RT) and has led many initiatives to establish insurance distribution channels to the rural areas, notably in China and India.
Previously he was the Global Head of Insurance and Director of Financial Services for Asia Pacific for SUN Microsystems where he helped establish SUNs cloud computing initiatives in the insurance sector. He was also a consultant to the United Nations, spanning three Secretary Generals, for disaster risk management, geographical information systems encompassing reinsurance spread across five continents.
